Yes, they always know when the shows will air.
Within the last few years, they ran a clue about a play that opened the same night on Broadway. That may or may not have been promotional. They certainly have promoted Broadway on occasions. In this case, since there was nothing to gain and only the exceptional would notice, I'd guess it was a coincidence...:)
