A slight shaking of one hand is the major manifestation of the stroke. I thought it worked. I didn't have a problem with the other characters not mentioning the shaking hand because the shaking was not extreme. Also, both my parents had strokes and the problems it caused were not a big topic of conversation among us, especially after a certain amount of time had passed. I think the same "let's not talk about it" ruled in the Younger household as O'Hara envisioned these characters.
