It looks like Andersson and Ulvaeus were nominated as composers of Chess when it was nominated for Best Musical Cast Show Album in 1989 (Into the Woods won), but not since then until the past two years. Abba as a whole was never nominated for a Grammy at all until last year, when it was nominated for Record of the Year. This year, it's nominated for Record of the Year and Album of the Year (and Andersson and Ulvaeus are individually recognized as well for their contributions).
