| As you said, she has a smoother sound--a tone that people associate with good singers--whereas Chita's voice has always been more gravely (and especially was at the time of Spider Woman). That being said, I think Chita actually has superior control over her instrument, probably refined over decades of doing eight shows a week. Williams's work in musical theatre has probably been too sporadic to necessitate her having to hone her craft in the same way. |
