| What on earth is “racist” (I think you mean “antisemitic”) about “Private Schwartz From Rockaway”? (Not “Rock-a-way,” by the way.) One of Fanny Brice’s calling cards was ethnic humor, playing characters with thick Yiddish accents. It’s “Dutch” comedy and was a staple of vaudeville and early Broadway shows. The number is delightful and an accurate recreation of one of Brice’s comedy routines! |
