If I go to a movie once a year and don't care about the history of movies, I'd likely skip a movie museum, more so if the ticket price is $52.
Those who will fork that over for a Bway museum will likely have a strong interest in the artform. Those very interested in the history of musicals is a small group. Of that group, those who can and will pay $52 is even smaller. I, for one, go to Bway shows all the time. I don't particularly care to see Carol Channing's Hello, Dolly! costume or pictures of old productions, most of which I can find on the internet or books.
This museum will realize soon enough that its audience is severely limited, particularly after the novelty of being a new museum wears off. |
