| The new Some Like It Hot musical is pure pleasure, capturing the spirit of classic Hollywood screwball comedies and musicals and updating their sensibilities to modern times successfully. The upbeat jazzy score by Mark Shaiman and Scott Wittman sounds suited to the period and the orchestrations by Charlie Rosen and Bryan Carter are first-rate. Bravo to the fabulous Christian Borle, J. Harrison Ghee, Adrianna Hicks, Kevin Del Aguila, Natasha Yvette Williams and the rest of the high spirited ensemble. Director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw does some of his best work here with several delightful dance numbers and a breathtaking scene with doors. Matthew Lopez and Amber Ruffin’s book is smart and fast-paced. I also liked the sleek set by Scott Pask and Glenn Barnes’ lovely costumes. And thanks TDF for the row D orchestra seat. |

| I want to second everything you said - I really enjoyed it. Smart and snappy - a score Cole Porter could have written, and the comic ballet in the second act alone was worth the price of admission. Also worth calling out the criminally under-billed Angie Schworer. Saw it Wednesday matinee, got a 5th row mezz ticket from TKTS at 1:45. House seemed @80% full? |

| With such a good seat it had to be matinee not evening. | |

| Nope, it was an evening performance. Row D, house right orchestra. Great view. I only missed one funny bit with a bouquet being thrown back and forth. I have no connection to this show and normally don’t write overly effusive posts unless I really like the show. I admit I was not expecting much from the show when I entered the theater. |

| I guess they are really hoping for good reviews to spark some ticket sales. Most of the online chatter has been very positive about the show but the grosses are still low so far. I'm seeing it Saturday night and I just checked Telecharge out of curiosity and it still looks less than half-sold at this point. | |

| Unfortunately a lot of shows are selling poorly. I don’t know how theater can continue this way. | |
