I love Chekhov, but it's hard enough to pull off his plays on stage, let alone on film. I'm always willing to take a look, though. And I agree the Lumet one is worth watching, young Redgrave makes a fine Nina. The more recent film with Annette Bening and Saiorse Ronan doesn't fully work, either, but it's also worth watching.
