....this was a rethinking of "The Music Man" from librarian Marian's perspective? (I'm a huge fan of Marian Anderson's, so this sounds like a compelling work to commemorate her importance in the world of music and the arts.)
First thought was Maid Marian from Robin Hood, second thought was Marianne Faithfull (which, yes, is a different spelling... it wasn't a deeply formed thought).
