As seems to happen here whenever a thread tries to be analytical, it devolves into a discussion about our individual tastes. You don't think the two shows you mention are art, which is fine, but others do. Art is what resonates and it is dynamic, not static. But this is really a tangent. What you said is that the Broadway sky is falling, but there have always been people like you and they have always been wrong. Ironically, the moneymakers provide breathing room for the majority of shows that do not make money including the challenging and important art that is what I enjoy. There has always been a mix of garbage and art and lots in between. There has always been a profit motive. And also ironically KPOP is likely going to lose heavily, and maybe SLIH too. I get that you have dug into your current posture. Which is of course your prerogative. |
