With reservations...

I'd love to see the graduation framework returned, but wouldn't want to lose "Growing Up" - also, am happy with the conflating of the "Like It Was" and "Franklin Shepard Inc." scenes.

The thing about Merrily is, it's on a universal theme of life, and one of musical theater's greatest gems, so will live on forever. But yes, it would be nice to have all the elements what made the first version so good as well.

The first version on Broadway was not a success.

And for good reasons.

I also fell asleep watching it.
