Need help finding a Broadway Version of Hark the Herald Angel Sings
Posted by: StormyEyed 01:43 pm EST 11/20/22

I'm looking for a broadway version of Hark the Herald Angles Sing.

I thought it was on one of the BCEFA Holiday CDs, or maybe the Phantom sings Christmas CD, but so far I still can't find it. I could be on one of those CDs I've just listed or another Broadway complication. I probably bought the CD in the 90s..

It starts with chorus "Hark the Herald angles sing, glory to the new born king." Then the soprano does a verse "Hark the herald angles sing...". Then the alto immediately does a verse "Christ by highest heaven adored, Christ the ever lasting lord,..." Then the soprano and alto duet intermixed with the choir. Primary accompaniment is the piano throughout.

Any ideas? I may try one more time closer to xmas...

Thanks,

Andy

It may be a long shot but I may have a suggestion. There was a Christmas CD that was put out by the First National tour of Beauty and the Beast called "The Beauty of Christmas." This sounds like the arrangement they used

It's on Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 12, with the cast from A Little Night Music, released in 2010, I think.

Can someone please check Volume 1 of BCEFA for Hark The Herald Angles Sing?

Thanks, Ann

I was able to check the BCEFA Carols for a Cure cds from Volume 2 to 19, and the song isn't on those CDs. (There are versions of Hark the Herald Angels Sing on Vol 6, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 19, but not the one i'm looking for...).

So it might be the cast of Les Mis on Volume 1 (1999). I can't find a sample of the song anywhere (spotify, youtube, Amazon, iTunes, etc).

Can someone please check Volume 1 of BCEFA for the version of Hark The Herald Angles Sing i've described above?

Thanks so much!

Andy

Of course, it's no help if you don't subscribe to Spotify, but...
