Does it speak to a less tribal mindset among theatre performers? (Or at least Broadway performers?) Are we less clannish now then 20 or more years ago? When did show jackets become a thing? It feels like a 1970's fashion. I don't recall seeing anyone in old photos wearing "Fiddler" or "My Fair Lady" jackets. Was it linked to the introduction of the trademarked Broadway logo? Where you knew the show from an image more than a title?
