I was surprised strong her acting was. She has really honed her comic sensibility over the years, especially while on Girls5Eva. And the vulnerability she brought so beautifully to Mary in JCS Live was put even to better use here. I only wish that the wider audience had gotten to see opposite Neil Patrick Harris with whom I thought she had much better chemistry than Brian D'Arcy James.

Yes, to all of that! Not to mention how beautifully she sang the role. She managed to imbue a touch of her modern singer-songwriter tonality while staying true to the character. Her 'Moment in the Woods' received a long and enthusiastic ovation the night I saw Woods... almost stopped the show. I don't recall thinking that she and BDJ lacked chemistry but I also have no frame of reference having not seen the pre-transfer Encores presentation.
