| Interesting! I remember seeing ads for Titanique when I was last in NY and it looked like such a typical not-really-theatre tourist show ala Blue Man Group, Tony & Tina's Wedding, Naked Whomever Singing, that I didn't explore. | |

| I found it to be a wonderful and fun night... and i'm glad I saw it... but I think it has been wildly over-hyped, and/or perhaps it depends on what cast you get in the often-rotating cast (i loved the whole cast I saw, including an alternate(?) who wasn't in the digital playbill anywhere)... But I did actually think it could be funnier. Several of the songs seemed to stop the flow of the pace/story/ridiculousness and comedy... because outside of the joke of the song coming, or what song it is, some of them just don't have much more to offer comedy-wise, and what they do offer isn't much different than what we already got. This isn't true of most of the songs but enough that I'm saying it. But the cast (especially the actors playing the Billy Zane role and Rose's mother, and Celine of course who also co-created/co-wrote it) were so good and so funny. So while I'm sure you'd have had a blast, I wouldn't lose sleep over missing it. P.S. I also wish Celine had been incorporated much more into the actual proceedings. She never even steps in to play any of the characters, as I recall. I wanted to see this performer's version of Celine take on pretending to be in the story in a different role than just as Celine. But hey, it was very fun/funny/entertaining as is. |

| Hamilton or The Cherry Orchard it ain’t. And thank goodness. Titanique never takes itself seriously. Is it a must see? No. But for my money, it’s one of the best shows in New York right now. | |

| Not quite sure how you came to that response for what I wrote... my post said nothing about wanting it to be some great masterwork of playwriting, or a nuanced drama or history play, nor did it say anything about how it should take itself more seriously... I asked that it amp up the humor even more, and find more ways to make comedy with the songs it chose. For a theatrical funny good time, sure it is a must see. But I still found it over-hyped... you must admit (or maybe you won't give the level of hype you're offering), the show is VERY VERY hyped. |

| I think you and I agree significantly more than disagree on Titanique. I will confess to having had a terrific (and a terrific amount of) a delicious pink champagne before Sunday’s matinee. And I laughed very hard. Roman, usually a teetotaler |

| I will admit I was unfortunately sober... and I'll admit that I was in the standing section as well. I think being tipsy AND sitting probably contribute notably to scrutinizing the show beat by beat less. If I hadn't been rushing there from work, and if drinks at the theater weren't so damn expensive, that wouldn't have been the case. | |

| There are some songs that go on too long, but Celine is always there to liven things up. | |
