| Funny you should ask. I wrote a long version of the post in which I discussed that. I tend to think it should at least be mentioned in a discussion of the run, although I would not give the run as 981 performances. It does remain the longest return engagement in Broadway history, by a good distance, and if you do count 981, then the production is in the top 10 among 1950s Broadway musicals.
