| Right, but those were men playing female characters. We're discussing the identity of the performer here. An openly non-binary performer has not yet been nominated so it poses a new challenge to the Tony committee. | |

| It would seem most logical and appropriate to ask the performer the category they prefer. Is there really any other answer here as to who should make this decision? | |
