“Into the Woods:” The cast was uniformly spectacular, but I was especially moved by Brian d’Arcy James’ Baker and David Patrick Kelly’s Mysterious Man. Julia Lester as Little Red was also a standout.
“Company:” Matt Doyle’s “Not Getting Married Today;” Jennifer Simmard and Claybourne Elder’s hilarious performances; the new all-male, barbershop-quartet-flavored “You Could Drive a Person Crazy.”
“Merrily We Roll Along:” No, not the current one - for which I failed to get tickets. Was lucky enough to catch Theater Latté Da’s production in Minneapolis last month. Very well-acted and staged and quite moving. Reese Britts was the perfect Franklin Shephard. |
