''Beetlejuice'' isn't just some literal version of the film. Korins clearly evokes Tim Burton's spooky aesthetic from his movies, but given it his own spirited spin. The house itself goes through various transformations, and in the video (below), Korins reveals just how detailed and challenging it was.

I love ''Moulin Rouge!'' and you hate it. We'll just agree to disagree. I find Timbers' work so visual and vibrant. Whether it's ''Beetlejuice,'' ''Moulin Rouge!,'' ''Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson'' or ''Here Lies Love,'' he creates immersive worlds that (to me) are thrillingly theatrical and Tony-worthy.

Technically, BJ was superb, but the songs and book are dull as dishwater. Not memorable. All mugging.

I've seen it twice. Again, loved the tech and design of the show, but the much of the music just felt like teenage angsty yelling on-key.

I thought the teen angst was the good part of the score! It was the sloppy comedy songs that didn't work for me. I do wish songwriters realized that a joke in a song isn't funny if the rhyme isn't exact.

I did enjoy the show, sort of despite itself. Yes, the book is all mugging, but enough of it got me anyway.

And, to be fair, I'm a horror/Tim Burton nerd coming in.
