| You're also correct that The Will Rogers Follies did play more than 1,000 performances on Broadway, counting the previews. To this day it never occurs to me to include the previews in calculating the run of any Broadway show. This is because I'm so old I can remember the era when previews were relatively rare (they only started becoming common in the Sixties), and the theater reference books of that era never included previews in what was given as "the run." So I tend to forget about them. I believe Variety and I know IBDb still tally the previews and "the performances" separately. |
