Another lyric question but not from Macys Parade.
In the current finale, is the lyric sung as “stiff upper nose, kid” like in the new cast album or “stiff upper chin, kid” which is what I’ve seen performed online. Curious which way it is now.
As for the Macys performance, the number played much better than when it’s been done on one of the morning shows in Times Square. Mr Macy and Mr Macys would both be proud. I’m also okay with the choreography not being from the show. When On the Town opened in a similar manner a few years ago, their dance break from their dance heavy show hurt the number for that specific parade imo.
My vote to open next years show: New York, New York. “Those little town blues…” transitioning from uptown to Herald Square could work nicely. Not that I actually get a vote or know anything about what the show will actually be like… |
