| The NYT is still so powerful that a bad or lukewarm review can not only hurt a show in New York, it can hurt its chances of being produced regionally. That said, KPop was struggling all throughout previews, and their only hope was a glowing rave from the Times. So the NYT didn't kill this show, it just sealed its fate... and even then, an unqualified rave might not have been enough to turn their fortunes around. |
