I've never been to Caroline's, but my impression is the club was a bit of a relic whose glory days were in prior decades in contrast to the Comedy Cellar (all locations). In recent visits to NY, I would try and catch standup shows at Comedy Cellar and never could get in with the lines. My impression is that the linesup/comedians frequenting Comedy Cellar were a little more current, edgy and cool by today's standards.
Are my completely speculative concepts of these venues accurate? |
