It's too expensive to see a lot of stuff; even TDF tickets are up to about $50 for Broadway plays and $60 for musicals, which adds up if you go to a lot of things, so I'm much more selective. Granted I've only been going back to the theater in the audience a few times since the pandemic (other than appearing in an off-Broadway show some months back). But people have been probably a bit more selective venturing out to be in an enclosed space because of safety concerns. Maybe that's lessening now some.
Years ago, I decided I didn't need to go to stuff that people said "you must see this". I sampled and did that for a while, but after a time, I decided I'm going to use my time more wisely, and see stuff I really want to see, rather than "have to" see. Yes, I like to be open to an eclectic menu of things, but stuff that might seem a chore to sit through, especially if it's getting expensive and I could use my time better, I'll give a pass. |
