But it's not harder, not at all, because every performances was marketed and sold to audiences as a performance of the musical KPOP on broadway. 99.99% of the audiences on any given "preview" day will never see it again, or ever think it will have changed in any notable way after they saw it.
This is also what happens when you open a show on Broadway off of reviews from a notably different version of the show off-broadway, a few years after it got those reviews, without trying the new version out somewhere else and working on it there. I get how expensive that is. But... don't figure your new musical out on broadway in front of full-price paying audiences and where word of mouth comes quick and honest.
It is not anyone's business but the producers if the show is frozen when audiences come or not... these are not sold as previews really let alone invited dress rehearsals.
And in terms of figuring out if the show has legs with ticket sales... outside of bad word of mouth from the show not being ready or not being good... they marketed the show badly and people came or didn't. Still "working on" the show for **eight weeks** in full performances sold to non-insider audiences technically before it opens does not impact if people are buying tickets, again, besides what can happen with word of mouth. |
