That's what the ellipsis is for. As you'll see, I didn't list every Best Play contender. I only named 3 of the more prominent ones: ''Leopoldstadt'' is by the legendary Tom Stoppard; ''Fat Ham'' is a Pulitzer Prize winner, and ''Life of Pi'' is an Olivier Award winner. ...
I haven't had a chance to see ''Ain't No Mo','' so I'll take your word. But if you look at its grosses last week, its future doesn't look amazing. It's doing 69% capacity, with an average ticket price of $21.36, for a gross of $120,901. It looks unlikely to make it to June and the Tonys.
Can ''Ain't No Mo''' still get a Best Play Tony nomination? Of course, but if it closes early, I think that diminishes its chances in a competitive season. |
