A tale of two Broadway movie adaptations: ''Almost Famous'' opened to mixed reviews and mixed postings on this board.
The word of mouth on All That Chat has been pretty positive for ''Some Like It Hot,'' which opens this Sunday (Dec. 11).
But since the start of November, ''Almost Famous'' has been outgrossing ''Some Like It Hot'' every week.
Last week, ''Some Like It Hot'' was at 69% capacity, grossing $622,357. ''Almost Famous,'' 72% capacity, grossing $734,567.
I thought ''Some Like It Hot'' would be doing better, but I imagine it'll get a big box-office boost if their reviews are raves. |
