| It's not poor attendance that set them back, it's the low average ticket price. And I think that creates some of the feeling around shows like this and Diana that fill houses through steep discounts / papering and building an ardent group of fans who then think the closings are unwarranted. I've gotten the impression from some of the cast/crew on social media of "why are we closing? The audiences are loving it!" and maybe, but they're also not paying at a level to sustain the show. I wonder if KPOP would have been better leaving more of those seats empty and not sending their average ticket down to the $30 range for most of the run. |
