Austin Butler is getting a lot of Oscar buzz for his tour de force in ''Elvis.'' And in a new deep-dive video interview, he recalls his 2018 Broadway debut as Don Parritt in ''The Iceman Cometh.'' He speaks glowingly of ''my hero,'' Denzel Washington, and what he gained from working with him. (Washington would later call Baz Luhrmann and recommend casting Butler as Presley.) Since ''Elvis'' came out, Butler's been busy: filming the sequel to ''Dune'' and ''Masters of the Air,'' Steven Spielberg's new World War II series, and he's hosting ''Saturday Night Live'' on Dec. 17.
However, Butler vows: ''I know I'll get back to theater. It's where you learn, 'cause you keep digging every night.'' |
