I wish I could see ''KPOP'' in a New York minute, but alas, a Broadway theater trip wasn't in my cards right now.
Even if it had gotten rave reviews, ''KPOP'' always had an uphill climb. It's such a mismatch of demographics. Broadway tickets are too expensive for the young audiences that are so enthusiatic about K-pop, and older audiences that could afford the tickets, don't care about K-pop.
It's rare to see a Broadway musical with an all-Asian cast, and this one included 18 Broadway debuts. ... I hope ''Here Lies Love'' fares far better! |
