I don't know if the lesson is that there aren't enough KPOP fans, or that the structure of the show wasn't attracting those fans. I have not seen the show, but it seems on a certain level, the show is a simulation of KPOP, not actual KPOP. Rap/Hip-hop is the biggest genre today, but if I created a show, called it "RAP," and had the performers be Broadway performers rather than known rappers for the most part, had a hackneyed book, and had them perform original raps by composers new to the genre rather than established hits, would there be an audience for that show? I'm pretty sure that "RAP" wouldn't do any better than "KPOP" is doing.
