| I think Leopoldstadt is the clear frontrunner for Best Play. It's this season's "snob hit," the British import that's already won the Olivier on a very serious subject, with critical raves. It's a box office hit, more so than anticipated. I think it's extended 3 times. Audiences love it and are moved by it. It's probably Stoppard's last new Broadway play. And it will still be running at Tony time. This is a very strong season for new plays, but I think Leopoldstadt has the right combination of factors and will take the prize. |
