But I don't think it's just about young vs older... i don't think KPOP music has NEARLY the hold they assume it does or the fan base, in America or in built-in broadway audiences... and they didn't do enough to market it well anyway. But I don't think people in their 50s, or 40s, or 30s, or even 20s who go to theater much are very interested in KPOP music actually, beyond a passing thing here and there. I'm sure there are many who are, or who like it casually, but you can't sell out a broadway musical every night on that. That doesn't mean it's bad or not worth doing, but I don't think there's that much of an audience for it actually if we are just going off the genre of music.

But hey, I'm not interested in it particularly but I did want to see the show. And would have if it were literally running even 4 weeks longer than it is.

My boyfriend is Asian and loves to see Asian people on stage and getting opportunities creatively the the co-music/lyrics writer and the book writer (let us not forget that the score was co-written by a white American, the show is also directed and choreographed by white Americans)... and he likes pop music way more than I do. I tried to get him interested in seeing KPOP, but he wasn't that interested... he was sort of interested but it wasn't prioritized and other shows were picked when he had the chance to see stuff (he was most excited about A Strange Loop, he wanted to see Six decided to wait for the tour, and he/we also saw Topdog/Underdog, Into the Woods, Funny Girl, Titanique)... because word of mouth wasn't strong and because just doesn't care about KPOP music much... and NOT AT ALL because he doesn't want to see Asian people on stage or Korean stories or uphold white supremacy. (He also wanted to see Kite Runner but word of mouth was not good so we ended up skipping it). He also wasn't terribly interested in seeing Leopoldstadt, and it's not because he is anti-semitic.
