Nothing new to say, really, other than to express a decades-long amazement with this masterpiece. I saw the excellent (though imperfect) production at Signature in Arlington last night, and no matter how well I know the show, there are still (still!) new depths to find. It may have been the best treatment of the Narrator/Mysterious Man I’ve seen.

I saw the original national tour, the first Broadway revival, Shakespeare in the Park, the taped versions of the original production and London, the movie, and I’ve lived with the cast album seemingly forever. Yet there’s still more to find in this piece of genius. We are so lucky to have it in our lives.
