Further down in the article it says: What does it mean if a person uses the pronouns "he/they" or "she/they"? I don't think that's at all far from the he/she/they example you cited. Also at the top of the article is the definition for Gender-expansive. I'm including a link below that digs a little deeper into some gender expansive terms.
