The $9.90 that was the top price for Hello Dolly in 1965 is worth about $95 today. Now it’s $199-249 for even a decent seat (not the best seat) at a musical … or even a non musical. And dynamic pricing is a challenge for all but the very-last-minute theatergoer. I would see twice the number of shows I usually see in a year if prices were more reasonable and ticket purchasing required less strategy.
