I’ve seen the show twice and never felt the show was over amplified. I appreciated hearing the singing and orchestra well balanced throughout the evening (and the orchestrations are wonderful) so I could understand every word being sung and spoken. I’ve been to recent shows that I found too loud but this wasn’t one of them.

The musical that I think has the best sound design right now is Into the Woods. The orchestra on stage never overpowers the singers who all sing beautifully.
