Nice effort I suppose but it is closing on December 18 because no big desire is there to see just another Play about the African-American experience when that seems to be the only type of play that is being produced this season. I applaud Will Smith's effort to develop a black audience but it is going to take an off a lot of effort to do so.
Some people do not want to face the facts blacks in this country are 12% of the population and unfortunately they are much less than even 5% of the theater going public. Black audiences will go to see Denzel Washington in anything and I will too but I will go to see great plays of a playwright of any ethnicity. |
