It is very impressive that The Hours made the Top 10. It was the 6th highest-grossing film for Saturday.
In other box office news, the film version of Samuel D Hunter's The Whale had the best limited release opening of the year, with a $60K per-theater average in its six theaters this weekend. The previous best this year was for Everything Everywhere All at Once, which I coincidentally saw today. Broadway vet Stephanie Hsu has a large role for which she will likely get nominated for an Oscar, and Aaron Lazar has a small part that apparently Daniel Radcliffe was originally asked to do, but he was appearing on the stage in London and couldn't coordinate it. |
