| The numbers don't work but I don't think non-profits are even a quaternary cause of the demise. Note also that many/most of the successful off-B commercial runs in the last 30+ years at least originated at non-profits. Shows like those we are now focused on because they flopping on Broadway mostly started at non-profits except total garbage derivative shows and things like the idiot Garth's fiasco. But yes what you say in your penultimate paragraph is true. |
