In Howard Ashman’s original lyrics to the prologue
Well, let's start there. This is part of Linda Woolverton's screenplay, yes?? -- not "lyrics" (this is not a song, this is spoken text). And as far as I'm aware, Ashman only wrote actual lyrics for the film.
