Yes, that's why it's still here (no Sondheim joke intended). But a person wrote what you are ridiculing. An lol or smiley face doesn't change what's written.
You may be surprised at the number of people who have stopped posting here because of the knowledge that, if their post isn't perfect, it will be nit-picked and the errors/typos will be magnified (when a correction isn't necessary) instead of the comment being regarded for the content and intention.
Yes, it's a consequence of social media. And many don't care. But I see some of the results. It's changed the way I post here, though it's certainly my personality to naturally want to respond with a joke. |
