The A train on a Sunday? "Zip" up the West Side Highway? Okay, Dr. Pangloss....

I don't think it's a bad idea but it definitely presents new complications. (Admittedly apart from 100 or so blocks, it's not that much worse than the Beacon.)

I imagine that there will be a lot of focus on the Latino nature of the theatre's location, which won't have much to do with the nominees but will be fun and lively.

Nobody has done more for Broadway's reputation in the last decade than Lin-Manuel Miranda and if his pet architectural project gets preferential treatment, then there's not much to complain about. From what I hear it's a stunning space and anything that can encourage audiences to go to live theatre (or cinema) is welcome.

I'm of the school that prefers the smaller-scale awards at places like the Shubert or Winter Garden. The vast anodyne spaces like the Gershwin and Minskoff were energy-sapping in their architectural blandness. The Beacon seemed to achieve both intimacy and beauty and I hope the United Palace does the same.
