Don't forget Feuer and Martin, who I am sure requested it along with Loesser.

I have read that the Swerling family insists that Jo Swerling did write at least part of the book, but I'm with you. I don't believe it. Years ago at the Library for the Performing Arts, there was an exhibition on Tony-winning musicals. One of the documents on display was a synopsis of Swerling's book that was sent to Jo Mielziner. It was vastly different than the book we know, not surprising since Guys and Dolls is a complete transformation of the source material.

And pretty much ditto it seems for How to Succeed as far as Burrows apparently being the sole author of the book, even though Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert were credited along with Burrows. But the book they wrote was thrown out, it seems completely.
