| If only Abe Burrows had also written the book for GREENWILLOW instead of the two lessers--Lesser Samuels and Frank Loesser! Joke, of course, as this Loesser musical was not comedic Burrows territory and it was based on a pre-existing novel. But, just recently, listening again to the OBCR, I was thrilled by this fabulous score, tied to a book that makes the musical impossible to revive, as the York Musicals in Mufti some years ago proved. |
