I'm not scolding those who haven't bought seats. Or shocked to find another film adaptation with a marketing problem; I was indifferent at best the entire autumn, and said as much on this board. I read the Times review Sunday night, and on Monday bought the TDF tickets for yesterday's matinee because the day had opened up.
This show is precisely the sort of popular entertainment -- Something Rotten springs to mind -- that might've taken off a few years ago. The insanely talented company is about as good as it gets. I'm just wondering why it seems to be startlingly undersold. As in Paradise Square undersold. I looked in January and it's basically wide open. There is no quantifiable advance, even for December. |
