Especially because it is largely rumored that Tyler Perry is in the closet. I have no idea if he is. But perhaps this is part of why Jackson felt more emboldened to go after him in a show about coming to terms with being gay and how to "be" black as a writer.
It's also known that he doesn't pay people well, or respect unions or their rates... so he has gotten incredibly rich off of a reputation for hiring black people and telling black stories and serving a black audience, while also not paying them properly. |
