| Yes, I think Sweeney took till around 1991 (but don't quote me on that year) to recoup. I did find specifics once a long time ago, but I can't find them now. If they had closed it right when the original leads left and then had not toured, I think it might not have taken quite as long. If the original leads had even stuck around for another six months or so, it might have just about paid off then. But it's understandable that they brought in new leads. They just didn't have the box office draw of Lansbury, and even on tour with Lansbury, box office was sometimes not good enough. |
