| Tom and Theoni V. Aldredge were both nominated in 1981, he for The Little Foxes and she for 42nd Street, and in 1972, he for Sticks and Bones and she for Two Gentlemen of Verona. I always loved them both. |

| I thought the legendary acting couple pre-dated the Tonys - but went on to IBDB only to learn they were both nominated for their Broadway swan song “The Visit” that premiered at the Lunt-Fontanne Alfred Lunt lost to Jason Robards Lynn Fontanne lost to Gertrude Berg of “Molly Goldberg” fame - tv show was before my time but became familiar with her since “Molly” starring the great Kaye Ballard tried out in Boston at the Shubert Maybe the voters felt that having a theatre named after them was enough for that season |
