| Of course, with the competition that season, The Heiress would not have won had there been more voters and public nominations, but it probably would have been nominated. The awards back then were decided upon by the directors of the American Theatre Wing, which I think was around 25 people. Maybe even fewer. I think they had a few meetings around a table. I think I have come across articles from the time that get pretty specific, but I don't have them handy. |
